If you edit the original transaction

If you own the original transaction, changes to the amount, currency, date, split structure, or family mark can update the transaction your partner received. For example, if you correct the amount from $100 to $120, your partner’s received transaction updates to $120. finerd marks the transaction for review so your partner can spot the change.

If you receive the update

If your partner edits the original transaction, your received transaction can update too. Open the transaction marked for review to see what changed. You can keep your own categories and other allowed reporting choices, but you cannot overwrite the original transaction from your copy.

Categories stay personal

Category changes do not sync between partners. If your partner categorizes the transaction as Beauty, you can keep it as Groceries in your own categories.

If sharing is removed

If the transaction owner removes the family mark from an allocation, the related shared transaction is removed from the partner’s family view. If the owner deletes the original transaction, the received family transaction is deleted too.

Receiver limits

As the receiving partner, you cannot remove the family mark, change the source account, split the transaction for the joint account, or delete your partner’s original transaction. You can change categories and money destinations where finerd allows it, but the original transaction remains controlled by the owner.
