When to use this

This is for private accounts, not joint accounts. For example, you pay rent, groceries, utilities, or another household expense from your own private account and want that expense included in family accounting. You do not need to share the whole account. You only share the transaction or allocation that belongs to the family.

Mark as family

  1. Open the transaction from your private account.
  2. Tap Mark as Family on the transaction or on the specific allocation you want to share.
  3. Leave anything personal unmarked.
  4. Save the transaction.

If only part is shared

If the whole transaction is a household expense, mark the transaction as family. If only part of it is shared, split the transaction and mark only the household allocation as family.
Example On a $162.39 Costco transaction, you can share $110.89 of groceries and keep $51.50 of hobbies personal.

How partner visibility works

Your partner sees the shared family expense, but they do not get access to your private account. finerd represents the source through your family member account, so the expense can appear in family reports without exposing the account you paid from. Your partner can categorize the shared expense for their own categories, but they cannot remove the family mark, change your original payment source, or delete your original transaction.
