Using an AI assistant other than Claude or ChatGPT? If it can connect to remote MCP servers, you can run the same Saldo → Finerd migration.
This is the advanced, do-it-yourself path — it works in any client that supports remote MCP servers, such as the Gemini CLI, Cursor, or other MCP-capable tools. If you use Claude or ChatGPT, follow the dedicated guides instead: Claude, ChatGPT.

Before you start

  • An AI client that can connect to remote MCP servers (HTTP), on a plan or setup that lets you add your own.
  • Your Finerd account and your existing Saldo account.

Step 1 — Add both MCP servers

In your client, add these two remote MCP servers (the exact steps depend on your client): Finerd
Saldo
When you authorize Finerd, sign in with your Finerd account.
When you sign in to Finerd, choose Read & Write access — you pick this on Finerd’s own sign-in screen. The migration needs it to create your data in Finerd; with Read-only it can read but not write, so it won’t finish. If you chose Read-only by mistake, reconnect Finerd and switch.

Step 2 — Run the migration

Once both servers are connected and their tools are available, send this prompt:
Your assistant runs get_finerd_skill("saldo_migration") to load the full migration playbook, then walks you through it. Follow its steps and answer its prompts.

Troubleshooting

  • The assistant can’t see the tools — make sure both MCP servers are connected and enabled for the current session, and that the URLs are exactly https://api.finerd.ai/mcp (Finerd) and https://api.saldoapps.com/mcp (Saldo).
  • The migration won’t create anything in Finerd — you’re most likely connected as Read-only. Reconnect Finerd and choose Read & Write.
  • “get_finerd_skill not found” — the Finerd server isn’t fully connected. Reconnect it with the URL https://api.finerd.ai/mcp and refresh its tools.
