# Invite and manage business-space members

> Invite teammates to a finerd business space, choose their roles, manage invitation links, and remove access or adjust paid seats.

Invite people to a finerd business space with a link, and choose a role for each person. Roles control what they can do in the finerd app, from viewing transactions to managing the team and billing.

Manage invitations, roles and paid seats on the **web**. iOS shows the member list; Android doesn't have member-management controls. You need the **Owner** or **Admin** role to manage members. Business access uses the business space's own subscription and paid seats; your Personal space's Pro subscription doesn't cover the team.

First, [switch to your business space](/business/create-business-space#switch). Personal spaces use [family access](/family-accounting), not business members.

<Tabs>
  <Tab title="Web">
    Select your profile at the bottom of the sidebar, open the settings icon, then select **Space members**. The list shows each person's name, role and status, along with invitations that haven't been accepted.
  </Tab>

  <Tab title="Android">
    Use the web app to invite people, change roles and manage paid seats. Android doesn't have a business-member management screen.
  </Tab>

  <Tab title="iOS">
    Open **More**, tap the space icon in the top-right corner, then **Space members**. You can see members, roles, pending invitations and the number of seats in use. To change them, use the web app.
  </Tab>
</Tabs>

  Invite a teammate
</h2>

On the web:

1. In **Space members**, select **Invite member**.
2. If the space is on a trial, finerd opens a subscription offer before showing the invitation form. Review the plan and price shown before you continue. On an active plan, if all paid seats are in use, add seats first; see [Paid seats](#seats).
3. Enter the person's **Full name**. This is a name for the invitation, not an email-address field.
4. Select a **Role** and review **Permissions**; see [Choose a role](#roles).
5. Select **Generate link**, then copy or share the invitation link with that person.

The invitation appears in the member list as **Pending**. The recipient opens the link, signs in or creates a finerd account, and selects **Accept invite**. After joining, they appear as an accepted member if a paid seat is available.

Share the link privately with the intended recipient: the name on the invitation doesn't restrict it to a particular email address. Each link can be accepted once.

<h2 id="roles">
  Choose a role
</h2>

Choose the role for the work the person needs to do in this business space. These roles describe access in the finerd app; [AI connections have their own access levels](/ai/manage-access#access-level).

| Role | Main use |
| - | - |
| **Viewer** | View transactions and permitted reports without creating or editing transactions in the app. |
| **Member** | Create and edit transactions. Doesn't manage financial accounts or team members. |
| **Accountant** | Manage financial accounts and transactions, import data and work with reports. Doesn't manage team members. |
| **Admin** | Manage members, billing and financial data. Can't edit or remove an existing owner. |
| **Owner** | Manage the business space, including other owners and deleting the space. |

Under **Permissions**, **Reports** lets you review report selections for Viewer, Accountant and Admin. A Member doesn't have a report selector; an Owner has all reports. Some reports are included in the role itself: Accountant and Admin retain **Profit & Loss** and **Balance Sheet** access. See [Who can see business reports](/business/business-reports#access).

**Cross-space transactions sharing** is available for Member, Accountant and Admin. It links the person's Personal space to the business so they can record business costs paid with personal money. Owners have this access automatically; it isn't offered for Viewers. See [Pay business costs from your Personal space](/business/create-business-space#personal-link).

To change an existing person's access, open their row, choose the new role and permissions, then select **Save**. You can't change your own role. Only an owner can change or remove another existing owner.

<h2 id="invitations">
  Renew or cancel an invitation
</h2>

Open a pending invitation on the web to copy its link or change its name, role and permissions. Select **Save** after changes.

* **Link expired:** open the invitation and select **Reactivate link**, then share the link again.
* **No longer needed:** open the invitation's **⋯** menu, select **Revoke link**, then **Confirm**. The link can no longer be used.

For pending and expired invitations, the **⋯** menu contains **Revoke link**. Once someone has joined, use **Delete member** instead.

<h2 id="remove">
  Remove someone's access
</h2>

1. On the web, open the person's row in **Space members**.
2. Open **⋯** and select **Delete member**. This is the menu action for an accepted or deactivated member other than yourself.
3. Decide whether to select **Reduce number of paid seats**. Leave it off if you want to keep the seat for another person.
4. Select **Delete**.

The person loses membership of this business space. To return, they need another invitation. Removing a member doesn't delete the business space.

You can't remove yourself through your own member card. The page's **⋯** menu offers **Leave**. Owners and admins can leave; other roles need an owner or admin to remove them. If other members remain, the only owner must assign another owner before leaving. If you're the only member, leaving leads to the separate space-deletion confirmation—read it carefully, because deleting the space removes its data.

<h2 id="seats">
  Paid seats
</h2>

The business plan includes one seat. Additional team members need additional paid seats, including people with the Viewer role. The member list shows how many seats are in use.

On the web, use **⋯ → Manage paid seats** when the space has additional seats. If it still has only one seat, start with **Invite member**.

The seat dialog shows the price per additional seat, **Today’s charge (prorated)** and **Starting next cycle**. Check those amounts before selecting the confirmation button. Remove members before reducing the seat count below the number in use.

If a member is deactivated because a paid seat isn't available, open their row and select **Upgrade plan** to manage seats. Changing their role alone doesn't provide a paid seat.

For the business subscription, payment and cancellation, see [Manage your finerd subscription](/account/manage-subscription#business).
