# Migrate from Saldo with Claude

> Step-by-step: connect the Saldo and Finerd connectors in Claude, then run the guided Saldo → Finerd migration.

> Bring your [Saldo](https://saldoapps.com) data into Finerd by connecting both apps to Claude, then letting the built-in playbook run the migration for you.

## Before you start

* Use **Claude in a web browser** ([claude.ai](https://claude.ai)) or **Claude Desktop** — not the Claude mobile app. Custom connectors can only be added on web or desktop.
* Have your **Finerd** account and your existing **Saldo** account ready to sign in.
* Your plan must allow custom connectors (Free, Pro, Max). On **Team/Enterprise**, an organization owner has to add the connectors first — see the troubleshooting note below.

## How it works

You connect two connectors in Claude, then start the migration:

1. Connect the **Saldo** connector — so Claude can read your Saldo data.
2. Connect the **Finerd** connector with **Read & Write** — so Claude can create your data in Finerd.
3. Ask Claude to migrate — it runs Finerd's guided migration playbook and walks you through the rest.

## Step 1 — Connect the Saldo connector

1. In Claude, open **Settings → Connectors**.
2. Click **+ Add custom connector**.
3. **Name:** `Saldo`
4. **Remote MCP server URL:** `https://api.saldoapps.com/mcp`
5. Click **Add**, then finish sign-in/authorization if a window opens.
6. Wait until **Saldo** shows as connected in the Connectors list.

## Step 2 — Connect the Finerd connector

1. Still in **Settings → Connectors**, click **+ Add custom connector** again.
2. **Name:** `Finerd`
3. **Remote MCP server URL:** `https://api.finerd.ai/mcp`
4. Click **Add**.
5. When Finerd's sign-in page opens, sign in and choose your access level.

<Note>
  When you sign in to Finerd, choose **Read & Write** access — you pick this on Finerd's own sign-in screen. The migration needs it to create your data in Finerd; with Read-only it can read but not write, so it won't finish. If you chose Read-only by mistake, reconnect Finerd and switch.
</Note>

## Step 3 — Run the migration

1. Open a **new chat** in Claude and make sure both the **Saldo** and **Finerd** connectors are enabled for it.
2. Ask Claude: *"Help me migrate my data from Saldo to Finerd."* (Claude runs `get_finerd_skill("saldo_migration")`, which loads the full migration playbook.)
3. Claude checks that both connectors work, then starts the guided migration.
4. Follow Claude's steps. It shows a 4-step tracker — connect Saldo, connect Finerd, verify access, run migration — and gives you one action at a time.

<Note>
  You don't need to run any tools yourself. Claude runs the migration playbook for you — your job is to connect the two connectors and answer its prompts.
</Note>

## Troubleshooting

* **Claude can't see a connector's tools** — reopen **Settings → Connectors**, confirm the connector is enabled, and check the URL is exactly `https://api.saldoapps.com/mcp` (Saldo) or `https://api.finerd.ai/mcp` (Finerd).
* **The migration won't create anything in Finerd** — you're most likely connected as Read-only. Reconnect **Finerd** and choose **Read & Write**.
* **"get\_finerd\_skill not found"** — the Finerd connector isn't fully connected. Remove it and add it again with the URL `https://api.finerd.ai/mcp`.
* **No "Add custom connector" button (Team/Enterprise)** — an organization owner must first add it in **Organization Settings → Connectors → Add → Custom**, then each member connects it. If you're not the owner, ask them to add **Saldo** and **Finerd**.
* **You're on the mobile app** — open **claude.ai in a browser** (or Claude Desktop) and run the migration there.
